Alberta’s Regiment

The storied history of the South Alberta Light Horse originates in the Louis Riel conflict in 1885 as the Rocky Mountain Rangers. Since that moment we’ve maintained a proud Cavalry lineage through several regiments including; the 19th Alberta Dragoons, South Alberta Regiment, 15th Light Horse, and finally, as it is today… the South Alberta Light Horse.

We've always steadfastly served as Alberta's Regiment through all our changes.
